Freestyle: So we caught you attempting a new aerial maneuver. Do you have a name for it?
Sean: Well it’s kind of hard, I need to land it before I can call it anything.
Freestyle: We’ll from the looks of it we’d call it a suicide scissor kick, do you really think it’s possible to pull off?
Sean: Ya, I think it is actually, it’s like an inverted passion pop reverse, if that makes any sense? Haha!
Freestyle: Cool, well good luck, it looks gnarly. So what brings you out to the westside?
Sean: I’m out for the Nike Pro JR in HB next weekend.
Freestyle: Good luck and show up and blow up.
We also got a couple clips of Sean doing his standard frontiside punts along with fellow Volcom soldier, Dave Post. Newport has been might fun lately, let’s pray for surf to keep the good times rolling.
This is Mr. Post in the air, but he’s been putting in some serious tube time as well. We’ll get him a sequence one of these days.
We have blogged about Melissa Marquardt’s little dog named Clifford in the past, and we can’t help but pump the little guy up again. Clifford loves wakeboarding and loves the camera and once again he stole the show. He didn’t mind at all when Melissa put Shark Watches on 3 of his legs. This dog needs to go to Hollywood. We eventually had to ignore Clifford so we could nail this new action shot of Melissa. More on this photo shoot coming soon!
We are happy to report the Globe Pro Fiji went off in epic conditions at Restaurants and Cloudbreak. Thanks to all who watched the live webcast!
The current World Champ, Mick Fanning, took home the first annual Freestyle Tube Time Award and $2,000.00 for his epic tube ride at Restaurants,
and none other than 8-time World Champ Kelly Slater took home the victory, his 3rd of the season! We imagine Kelly and Occy are discussing how much they like Freestyle. Kelly’s saying, “Darn Occy, I wish I could be back on the Freestyle team like I was in the 80’s!” Occy replies, “No kidding mate, I need to get me one of those Shark Watches, it’s the raddest watch ever!”
