Shane Dorian
Shane Dorian, a product of the big island of Hawaii, has effortlessly carved out his own unique path the world of pro surfing. After spending nearly 10 years on the WCT, he turned his back on chasing contests and turned his sights onto chasing big waves. Today Shane’s days on the WCT look like a 1st Grade classroom compared to the monstrous waves he charged in 2005. Shane rode what is considered to be the biggest and heaviest tube in History, which landed him 2 covers in November 2005. Talk to him and he’ll tell you this is just the tip of the iceberg. And he was right on, now in 2008 Shane just bagged the Billabon Global Big Wave awards Ride of the Year garnering him a fat $50,000 check. Without a doubt the surfing world can expect BIG things from Shane for years to come. Retired? Not a chance! And now he's giving back the groms, check out Shane's latest watch design, The Grominator, purposely crafted to fit a grom sized writh and tough enought to survive the hazing.
